The Leaven is an after-school organization that is truly making an impact in the community. Their presence at local high-risk apartment complexes has drastically reduced crime and spurred educational growth. They came to us to craft their web marketing presence.

We took their provided logo and designed a beautiful and inviting website from scratch. It was important to emphasize their brand values in this project: empathy, integrity, and energy. Their website has received critical acclaim and has been integral in their success as a non-profit.

    View Work Oliver Russell

Award-winning advertising agency Oliver Russell hired Reformata to build the front-end templates and back-end administrative power for their new website's blog and news sections. We used hand-crafted XHTML & CSS for the front-end, creating a website shell that was cross-platform. We also worked our Expression Engine magic to actualize the administrative end, giving Oliver Russell staff the power to publish at will.

One of our more unique projects, Reformata was hired by Bay area agency ZURB to develop and design some web direction concepts for Britney Spears' new website. Our take on the design was in context to her then-upcoming release, 'Circus'. We spent some time researching typefaces, design elements, and various aesthetic treatments to arrive at the result you see here.

After working with us once before, The New Covenant Fellowship Church of McKinney, Texas hired Reformata again to re-design their web presence. Their needs had expanded greatly since our last project together, requiring support for a fully-maintainable website system, custom-branded email newsletter, and a podcast administration system. We were up for the challenge.

Using Expression Engine, we developed a system that enables any non-technical staff member to add, edit, or delete content. We also assembled and hooked-up an iTunes back-end that automatically updates their iTunes podcast listing simultaneously when they post new sermons to their website.

View Work New Life Church Redesign

New Life Church out of Northern California chose Reformata to redesign their website. It was their goal to have a web presence that was beautifully designed and easily updatable by anyone on staff.

Our website solution combines warm colors, inviting imagery, and a fully-updatable back-end system powered by Expression Engine. This system enables staff members to update copy, post events, and even upload video sermons. Archived sermon media will enrich their ministry by providing members (and visitors) with solid teaching that is accessible 24/7/365.

She wanted a look that was classy and beautiful, so after hours of brainstorming and creating different concepts, we arrived at what you see now at deborahemory.com. I'm definitely proud of her work and am excited to see her business take off. She really has amazing work—check it out!

    View Work Hotel 43

We partnered with award-winning advertising agency Oliver Russell to produce the new website for Hotel 43, a boutique hotel located in downtown Boise, Idaho.

Our role was to take the design files provided by Oliver Russell and construct the site from the ground up. This proved quite a challenge because the site's design is one that is layered with beautiful typography and opaque imagery. We compiled many browser technologies to make the site work well while keeping it's aesthetic intact. The result is a website that functions beautifully and performs well across all platforms and browsers.

    View Work The Pursuit

The Pursuit is a thriving church plant in Boise, Idaho. Their edgy feel and seeker-sensitive methodology necessitated an equally edgy website to better reach those in southwest Idaho. Pastor Paul Hatfield wanted a site that was both beautifully designed and easy-to-use—and we were definitely up to the challenge.

Our aim was to make the homepage as easily-digestible as possible. It acts as a landing page to greet potential visitors while also showing some of The Pursuit's purposes. This helps The Pursuit to communicate their goals as a ministry and to additionally invite others to join them in the journey.

  • Japhia Life Turn My Back album artwork

View Work Japhia Life Turn My Back Album Art

We worked with Christian hip hop artist Japhia Life to direct and produce the artwork for his new single 'Turn My Back.' Japhia's latest musical project, called 'The Heartsville Mixtape,' aims to break the typical Christian hip-hop mold. As such, we felt it was necessary to also experiment with various art directions for his first single off the album. Here are two of them.

The first concept is a retro and funky direction, playing to the synthesized and club-ready context that 'Turn My Back' exhibits. The second concept is a visual play on words with clean lines and a blocky aesthetic. Japhia felt this option was the better fit for what he was trying to portray in his new journey as an independent artist. Be sure to check out 'The Heartsville Mixtape' early 2009.

  • NNU Christian Love and Love Among Us flyers

View Work NNU Christian Love and Love Among Us flyers

Thomas Oord, Professor at Northwest Nazarene University hired Reformata to design two flyers: one for the 2009 Wesley Conference on Christian Love, and the other for an NNU collaborative book, entitled: 'Love Among Us,' in which students submitted written works about their experiences with God's love.

The 2009 Wesley Conference was about putting God's love into action. As such, our work on the flyer tied in these two concepts, depicting Jesus on the cross and two men walking together. The 'Love Among Us' book flyer shows loose photos and scraps of paper—aiming to represent a college student's busy life.

View Work Japhia Life MySpace Design

This is the second project that we completed for Japhia Life, a Christian hip hop artist based out of Philadelphia. After producing the artwork for his latest release, 'The Heartsville Mixtape,' we took that same design feel and redesigned his MySpace page.

Japhia Life has been an established artist for years, but unfortunately his cluttered MySpace page depicted a much different feel. We saw the need to completely revamp the page from top to bottom, making sure to fine-tune the page for the utmost efficiency. The result is a clean, quick-loading page which doesn't take focus off of Japhia or his message.

  • Jetstream Aviation

    View Work Jetstream Aviation

Jetstream Aviation, the largest pilot-school in all of Idaho, needed a much-belated makeover to their website. They contracted Reformata to handle the art direction, design, build, and installation of Expression Engine content management system, enabling any administrative user to update, edit, and delete content on their own.

Our strategy with this project was to restructure the architecture of the website and showcase the biggest selling points that Jetstream had to offer their clients. Using Adobe Flash technology, we created a home page that showcases these five points in a flair that even Amelia Earhart would admire. Next, we created sub-pages that carried on the theme set by the home page: vivid blue gradients, clouds, heavy-duty aircraft, all coupled with easily digestible content.

    View Work Smorgasmorgue teaser site

What is a smorgasmorgue? No one really knows. But the Northwest Nazarene University art department needed a teaser site to market their weekly coffee hour of the same name, and we were happy to help.

Legend has it that the NNU art dept. used to be a morgue, so it was only fitting that the art direction fit the role. Polaroids were taken of the department, edited with various spooky effects, and looped to play in a mysterious television that sat inside an open casket. Weird? Yes. Effective? Yup. It definitely generated a little buzz amongst the art students.

In fact, looking back, it's almost as if the site is a teaser for an upcoming movie. Except this movie has free coffee and pastries.

The site saw visitors and applicants from all over the US and Europe, paving the way for a very successful first-year for the school.
